YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Planning a vacation comes with plenty of questions. Here are straightforward answers to some of the things travelers ask us most.
Do I have to pay for my entire vacation when I book?
Usually, no. Most vacations begin with a deposit, with the remaining balance due closer to your travel date. The exact amount and payment deadline depend on the destination and travel supplier. If you’re booking close to departure, full payment may be required.
Am I paying you or the travel supplier?
You’ll make payments directly to the travel supplier—not to Key to Adventure Travel Co.® Your confirmation and payment records will come from the resort, cruise line, tour operator or other vacation provider connected to your trip.
Does it cost more to work with an Adventure Advisor?
For many vacations, professional planning support is already built into the supplier’s pricing, whether you book on your own or work with an advisor.
Some trips may require a planning fee because of their complexity, group size or the amount of custom research involved. If a fee applies, your advisor will explain it before the planning begins—no surprise charges tucked into the fine print.
I already booked my vacation. Can you still help me?
Possibly. Some reservations can be transferred to an Adventure Advisor if they were booked recently and meet the supplier’s requirements.
If your reservation cannot be transferred, your advisor can talk through the available options with you. Depending on the trip, planning assistance may still be available for a fee. Reach out before canceling or changing anything so we can help you avoid an expensive “oops.”
Do I need to know exactly where I want to go?
Not at all. Some travelers arrive with a resort, ship and room category already chosen. Others arrive with “somewhere warm, please.”
Tell us what you know—your approximate dates, budget, travel party and what you want the vacation to feel like. We’ll help you narrow the choices and find the right fit.
What kinds of vacations do you plan?
We plan Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Universal vacations, ocean and river cruises, all-inclusive resorts and customized trips around the world.
Every advisor has different areas of experience, so we’ll match you with someone who knows the type of vacation you’re considering.
Can I choose my own Adventure Advisor?
Absolutely. If you already know which advisor you would like to work with, select their name on the vacation quote form.
If you aren’t sure, that’s completely fine too. We’ll match you with an advisor based on your destination, travel needs and planning style.
Why should I use an Adventure Advisor instead of booking directly?
Booking is only one small part of planning a vacation. Your advisor helps you compare options, understand what is—and is not—included, keep track of important dates and prepare for the details that are easy to overlook.
You still make the final decisions. We simply help you make them with better information and a lot less second-guessing.
Will my advisor be available after I book?
Yes. Our support does not disappear as soon as the deposit is paid.
Your advisor will help you prepare for your trip, keep you informed about important details and remain a point of contact if questions come up before or during your vacation.
What happens after I submit a vacation quote request?
Your request is reviewed and matched with an Adventure Advisor who fits your trip. Your advisor will contact you to introduce themselves, ask any follow-up questions and begin discussing your options.
If you requested a specific advisor, your form will be sent to that person. Please allow approximately 24–48 hours for a response.
What if I’m only researching and not ready to book?
That’s okay—you do not have to be ready to enter a credit-card number just to start a conversation.
A general idea of your dates, budget and travel goals helps us give you useful guidance. If your trip is still several years away or its pricing has not been released, we can explain what you can do now and when it makes sense to begin planning.
