Universal Studios Orlando is Welcoming You Back!
After being closed for almost three months due to Covid-19, Universal Studios Orlando reopened their gates on June 3rd with some new safety guidelines. Temperature checks upon entry, mandatory masks for guests over three, and social distancing are some of the more obvious changes. Universal has gone one step further and also offers hand sanitizer to all guests before boarding every ride and they have staff working overtime to clean and sanitize high touch areas. The parks are also limiting capacity but if you stay at an on-site resort you are guaranteed entry during your stay.
During the day you will have the opportunity to stop and take a "mask break". Located throughout both Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk, you can find U-Rest Areas where you can practice social distancing while taking a breather, literally. Masks are required at all times unless eating or drinking, riding water rides, or taking a break at one of the U-Rest Areas. Team Members are walking around to make sure that everyone plays safe and keeps their facial coverings on, if you take it off you will be asked to put it back on.
Key to Adventure Travel Co. strongly advises you take several kinds of face coverings and several for each day of your stay. Universal does sell their own branded cotton masks that are quite comfortable and breathable, they are $6 each or three for $15. Another favorite, especially during the hot and humid Florida summers is the cooling gaiters. They are very breathable and lightweight and best of all you can get them wet to help keep you cool.
Characters are still everywhere, you never know who you might bump into! Most are available to take a picture with at a distance, or a selfie if you choose. From Scooby and the Gang to Spongebob and Shrek, you will not be disappointed.
If you are thinking about planning a trip to Universal Studios Orlando, now really is a great time to go. Crowds are very low and they are doing a great job of keeping everyone as safe as possible. To make your experience even better, stay at one of the three Premier on-site resorts and you get to the fun faster with the Universal Express Unlimited Pass which is a $129 per person per day value! The savings really adds up and is worth every penny to be able to ride all of your favorite rides as many times as you want, with very little to no wait!
